DESCRIBE SPECIFIC TRAILS HIKED AND TRAIL CONDITIONS ENCOUNTERED:  Hiked in and out on the Mt. Kearsarge Trail.  Trail alternated between bare dirt/rock to hard-packed snow and icy sections requiring microspikes, but not snowshoes or full crampons.  Better snowcover toward the summit.

WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR HIKE:  Partly cloudy, temps in the mid 20s, light wind down below building to gustier conditions toward the summit

OTHER COMMENTS (problems, views, terrain, etc.):  Nice view despite the clouds.  Ate our lunch in the fully enclosed fire tower at the summit, which enabled us to enjoy the 360-degree views without being exposed to the elements.  Everyone did fine, although several hikers overheated a bit while hiking due to inadequate layering adjustments.

BRIEFLY DESCRIBE SPECIFIC TRAILS HIKED AND TRAIL CONDITIONS ENCOUNTERED: Pond Walk ‘figure 8’

WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR HIKE: Foggy, but only sprinkled a bit at the end.

OTHER COMMENTS (problems, views, terrain, etc.)
Many people didn’t show up for this hike; the weather forecast was less than promising and fog made the drive less than relaxing.   That who did come had a great hike with no rain until it started to sprinkle lightly just at 8:00 pm as we were getting back toward the cars. Although we didn’t see the moon, we did have a great time.

Looking forward to next month's Full Moon hike, maybe with some snow on the ground and the moon in the sky.
