BRIEFLY DESCRIBE SPECIFIC TRAILS HIKED AND TRAIL CONDITIONS ENCOUNTERED: The hike consisted of hilly, wooded trails in the Bourne Sisters and Perry Woods, a cranberry bog, and a wooded path on the Leary Property down to a marsh with views of Back River.  The trails had a few mushy patches of snow but otherwise were primarily dry.

WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR HIKE: sunny, blue skies, 49 degrees, no wind to start and then the wind picked up and fog rolled in just as we finished
OTHER COMMENTS (problems, views, terrain, etc.) No problems. Janet Kaiser was our point person in the middle of the group and Jane Harding was the sweep--both are level I hike leaders.
IMPORTANT: Contact Hike Committee Chair ASAP with any medical emergencies or other serious incidents. No concerns.

Snowshoe Hike #2 - 2-18-2017 - Mt. Israel

DIFFICULTY:  B (A=very strenuous; B=strenuous; C=average; D=easy)

TRAILHEAD PARKING LOCATION & DESCRIPTION:  Mead Wilderness Base Camp off Sandwich Notch Road. Adequate parking as the parking area had been plowed.

BRIEFLY DESCRIBE SPECIFIC TRAILS HIKED AND TRAIL CONDITIONS ENCOUNTERED:
Hiked the Wentworth trail. It had snowed a few days previously so there was plenty of snow. Trail conditions were wonderful for a winter snowshoe.

Mostly sunny and mild temperatures for February.

A very nice snowshoe hike with an excellent crew.
