Winter Hiking Series #2 - Morgan-Percival, Holderness, NH

TRAILHEAD PARKING LOCATION & DESCRIPTION:        Rte. 113 Holdness, NH.  Hiked the loop trail counter clockwise. Going up the Mt Percival trail and down the Mt Morgan Trail.   This was the safest route due to the steep cliffs on Percival and snow covered trails.

Trail had packed and loose snow-requiring micro-spikes.  Snowshoes were not required.
WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR HIKE: Sunny 30 to 32 degrees
OTHER COMMENTS (problems, views, terrain, etc.)  Clear day with great views on the summit.  Snow pack on the trail varied 8 to 12 inches.  Three people bailed out on the Percival trail.  One due to sickness from a head cold.  Leslie and Maureen walked Kim and Kim’s friend back to the car.  A few minutes later Becky was having some hip pain so Paul walked her back to the car.  Paul, Leslie and Maureen did meet us up on Mt Morgan.

Started at Houghton’s pond and hiked the South/North Skyline trail continued across the street to Buck hill and back.   Since the group was large we split into two groups
